The Incubator of High Technology in Sustainable Agri-Food, AgrotecUV, located in the University of Valencia Science Park, opens its second call to incorporate 10 new companies to its incubation and acceleration program for innovative startups linked to the agri-food sector. This program is aimed at both startups and spin-offs recently created as well as innovative projects in the process of incorporation that seek support for their growth
AgrotecUV, the incubator and accelerator of the University of Valencia (UV) and the University of Valencia Scientific Park Foundation (FPCUV), opens a new call, which ends next October 17 at 14h (peninsular time), and after which 10 new innovative projects that provide solutions to agri-food problems will be chosen. The program offered by the accelerator, focused on the agri-food sector, has great benefits such as business training, mentoring and personalized monitoring of companies by experts. In addition, the selected startups will be able to enjoy specialized facilities for the development of products and services such as a greenhouse or a research laboratory in experimental and behavioral economics (LINEEX) associated with the University of Valencia, where they can validate the product with target customers before its market launch. In this sense, they will also be provided access to a network of contacts in the ecosystem and the availability of their own spaces to develop their activity. Also, the selected projects will receive an economic endowment of 2,000 euros and a voucher of 2,500 euros to be used in scientific-technical services of the UV.
The success of the first call has encouraged AgrotecUV to continue improving its services to the companies that count on them and they are currently awaiting the completion of a new building where they can gather their facilities for the benefit of the incubator and the startups that need them
An ideal environment for companies in the agri-food sector
The AgrotecUV incubator is a commitment of the University of Valencia for technology transfer and business innovation in the agri-food sector, after being recognized for the fifth consecutive year as the best Spanish university in the category of Food Science and Technology by the prestigious Shanghai ranking. In addition, it has the support of the FPCUV as a promoter partner, within an ecosystem of innovation and research of reference in the Valencian Community, which includes more than 90 innovative science and technology-based companies, both Spanish and international, many of them linked to the agri-food sector.
In the first call for selection of sustainable agri-food projects launched by AgrotecUV, the following companies were selected: Aerofybers technologies, Evolving Therapeutics, Oscillum, Plant-predictor, WinusBio, Madeinplant, Datipic, Ibions, Umamix 3S Foods, Cucare Diagnostics and Oleoway company. These startups, specialized in the foodtech and agrotech verticals, have managed to grow and develop, closing important rounds of financing by specialized capital, and launching new products and services through agreements with leading companies in the sector such as Alnut, Anecoop, ADM or GCM citrus.
