Madeinplant, startup incubated in AgrotecUV, awarded in the Agriculture Levante-EMV Awards in the category of Emerging

AgrotecUV company will receive the recognition on April 24th in the third edition of the Levante-EMV Agriculture Awards. Madeinplant has different business areas such as the production of biomolecules with high added value or the development of solutions for metabolic engineering projects

Madeinplant, a company located in the scientific-business area of the Science Park of the University of Valencia and startup incubated by AgrotecUV, has been awarded in the third edition of the Agriculture Awards of Levante-EMV. Specifically, the startup has been awarded in the Emerging category, a category that aims to promote innovative and entrepreneurial projects. 

Madeinplant SL is the first company chosen by the incubator of AgrotecUV, the high-tech incubator and accelerator in sustainable agri-food of the University of Valencia (UV), located in the facilities of the Science Park. The company has different business areas such as the production of biomolecules in plants with high added value; the development of solutions for metabolic engineering projects, genetic editing; or the development of the most advanced technology developed by CSIC scientists in plant biotechnology and genetic engineering. Its founding team has over 20 years of experience in plant biotechnology. With the aim of encouraging entrepreneurial companies, it has been selected to receive the Agriculture Award for Levante-EMV in the category Emerging. 

The awards of this third edition will be held on 24 April at the headquarters of Cajamar (Paseo de la Alameda, 34 de València). In addition to Madeinplant, other companies and individuals from the Valencian agriculture sector will be recognized for sustainability, equality or internationalization of their projects, among other aspects.  The ceremony will be attended by the already confirmed presence of the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Miguel Barrachina. The awards have the global sponsorship of Cajamar and the collaboration of Patatas Aguilar and Bayer.

About AgrotecUV

AgrotecUV is the business incubator that was born as an initiative of the University of Valencia and the University Science Park Foundation. Works with startups related to the agri-food sector and supports them in transforming the sector into a sustainable, healthy, inclusive system, adapted to consumer needs and capable of addressing climate challenges. Thus, this project seeks to promote the transfer of scientific knowledge in the agri-food sector, stimulating innovation processes, generating a knowledge ecosystem, technology and infrastructure that add value to technology-based, innovative and sustainable enterprises.

It is co-financed by the INCYDE Foundation, within the framework of the FEDER Operational Programme, through the Spanish Chamber of Commerce. AgrotecUV is part of the project "High-Tech Incubators for the promotion of innovation and technology transfer to micropymes", aimed at promoting a modernization of the productive fabric of the regions. The Incubators are created as a driving force in line with the objectives of the EU 2020 Strategy and Horizon 2020.  It currently has 24 companies, including Madeinplant.
