Around 4,000 people celebrate Expociència at the Science Park of the University of Valencia

08/05/2023

Expociència, the science, technology and innovation festival of the Science Park of the University of Valencia (PCUV), was visited this year by nearly 4,000 people. Young and not so young people have been able to enjoy playing and learning in this innovation space located near the Burjassot-Paterna Campus.

Expociència is the open day of the Science Park of the University of Valencia (PCUV), an innovation ecosystem of the UV and a place where scientists and entrepreneurs work to make effective the transfer of knowledge to the productive sector and society. As every year, the Park organizes this celebration of science, technology and innovation in order to bring the public closer to this scientific and innovative ecosystem. And it does so in the form of a game throughout Saturday morning.

As has been the case in recent years, Expociència has presented around one hundred recreational and informative proposals. These are activities prepared by the research institutes of the University of Valencia and the CSIC located in the PCUV, as well as by university entities such as the School of Engineering (ETSE), the UV Museum of Natural History, the Experimenta Fair, other UV and external centers, and companies in the Science Park.

Workshops on physics, chemistry, astronomy, biology, robotics and more have offered visitors the chance to immerse themselves in the more playful side of science, creating their own bacteria, obtaining DNA from fruits, analyzing archaeological objects, preparing a Blandiblú, launching rockets, playing with Lego robots, observing cells or participating as a researcher for a day in a scientific congress.

Visitors have shared experiences with great researchers, such as those who work at the European Space Agency or the Large Particle Accelerator at CERN; or those who are dedicated to the conservation of biodiversity, energy efficiency and the environment. Because many of them work at the Parc Científic and have been at Expociència accompanying the public.

Organized by the University of Valencia Science Park, Expociència is visited every year by thousands of citizens and has the collaboration of the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), as well as the support of the Generalitat Valenciana.
