The partnership, which is endowed with a municipal investment, aims to strengthen the competitiveness of the business area of the Park and promote the economic and industrial development of the municipality

The City of Paterna and the University of Valencia Science Park Foundation (FPCUV) have signed a collaboration agreement aimed at promoting the renovation, improvement and modernisation of equipment, infrastructure and services at the University of Valencia Science Park. The agreement, signed on 28 July 2025, provides for the financing of infrastructure by the municipality, which will be carried out under the budget year 2025.

This action is part of the Strategic Plan of Grants of the City of Paterna 2024-2026, specifically in the strategic line of economic development and employment. With this initiative, the council reinforces its commitment to the local business fabric and the promotion of strategic industrial areas, such as the Science Park, considered an innovation pole in the metropolitan environment.

The City of Paterna will contribute to the improvement of infrastructures of the Scientific Park of the University of Valencia, as part of its strategic plan for economic development and employment

The funding will enable FPCUV to undertake actions aimed at modernising the Park’s infrastructures and services, with the aim of consolidating its position as an attractive space for science and technology-based companies, as well as improving working conditions for the more than 90 firms now established.

The agreement expressly recognizes the importance of shaping the Science Park as a highly competitive area, capable of attracting new investments, encouraging the implementation of new economic activities and generating skilled employment in the municipality. In this sense, the Municipality of Paterna reaffirms its role as an active agent in the promotion of economic, industrial and technological development of the territory.

Pedro Carrasco, director of the University of Valencia Science Park and patron of the FPCUV, has positively assessed the agreement: "This agreement represents not only an economic contribution, but a clear demonstration of the commitment of the Municipality of Paterna to innovation and industrial development. It allows us to continue strengthening the infrastructure of the Science Park, improve the experience of companies hosted here and attract new business projects with a scientific basis. Our objective is clear: to create an increasingly competitive and connected environment with the knowledge society and economy".

"The agreement makes it possible to continue strengthening the infrastructure of the Parc. We want to create an increasingly competitive and connected environment with the knowledge society and economy", Pedro Carrasco, director of the UV Science Park

Since its creation, the University of Valencia Science Park Foundation has established itself as a reference in the management of spaces for innovative companies linked to university research. Through this agreement, not only is its dynamic function of the entrepreneurial ecosystem strengthened, but public-private collaboration is promoted as a way to move towards a more sustainable, technological and competitive production model.

With this joint action, the University of Valencia Science Park takes a new step in its process of consolidation as a reference space for knowledge transfer, innovative entrepreneurship and the connection between university, business and society.
