The Local Paterna Pact for Innovation has been signed in the Science Park

Government, business and trade union representatives as well as universities, technological centers and institutes and the CSIC, among others, have signed this Thursday 28 the Local Paterna Pact for Innovation. The event has taken place at 10.30 am in the Marie Curie Auditorium of the Science Park of the University of Valencia.

This Pact seeks to consolidate Paterna as an Intelligent and Competitive Economic Zone, to position the municipality on the international map of research and to promote the development of innovation in order to increase the welfare and quality of life of the closer society. This agreement, which will have a validity of two years from its signature, is part of the municipal roadmap to make Paterna a Smart City "focused on the needs of the citizen and our SMEs."

In addition to the City of Paterna, the signatories have been the Conselleria of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sector, Trade and Labor; the Universitat de València and the Universitat Politècnica de València; the Valencian Business Confederation (CEV); the unions CCOO PV and UGT-PV and the five parks located in the town. Moreover, el Centro Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), the Network of Valencian Universities for R + D + i (RUVID), the Network of Technological Institutes of the Region of Valencia (REDIT), the Consell Valencià de la Innovació and the Agencia Valenciana para la Innovación.

Raise awareness, train and accompany

In this context, the local government of Paterna is committed to establishing "a necessary basis to allow the flourishing and support of other actors in the territory". "Therefore, it must guarantee access and create a favorable environment, raise awareness, train, accompany and create services that help consolidate innovative initiatives," it is said in the text that was approved at the plenary of the City of Paterna last July.
