The University of Nanjing (China) honours the scientist Eugenio Coronado

Eugenio Coronado, full university professor of Inorganic Chemistry of the Universitat de València and researcher in the Institute for Molecular Science of the Universitat de València (ICMol), has been recognised as ‘Concurrent Professor’ in the University of Nanjing (China). The scientist will be the First Lecturer of the Xiaozeng You Lecture, new honour created for the same university to recognise chemist of coordination of international relevance.

The appointment of ‘Concurrent Professor’ is an honorary distinction that the Chinese universities award to foreign researchers of international renown. Coronado is the first scientist who receives the distinction of the University of Nanjing in the Chemistry field. He will also be the first to take the place of First Lecturer of the Xiaozeng You Lecture, a new cycle of seminars and conferences of excellence in honour to this chemist, member of the China Academy of Sciences, recently deceased.

Coronado realises the main part of his work in the Institute for Molecular Science of the Universitat de València (Parc Científic), centre that heads since its creation in 2000. He has prizes as Prize Rey Jaime I, National Prize of Chemistry and National Prize Rey Juan Carlos, among others. Moreover, his name appears in the staffs of important scientific organizations of all the world, as the European Institute of Molecular Magnetism of the director. He has also recently been named ‘honorary doctor’ by the Université de Bretagne Occidental (UBO), in Brest (France).
