The 8 start-ups selected by VLC/STARTUP will develop their innovative projects in the Science Park

The official communication of the resolution of the Program has taken place today in an act chaired by the vicerectora for Innovation and Transfer of the University of Valencia, Mª Dolores Real: "This initiative is an example of how to get the most out of all the efforts that are being made to promote interaction between academia, research and the business sector," she highlighted.

The fourth edition of the VLC/STARTUP Program, promoted by the University of Valencia Science Park Foundation (UVSPF), has selected eight innovative projects that have been promoted by entrepreneurs linked to the academic institution. Its areas of activity are inserted within Advanced Services, Medicine and Health, Nanomaterials and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), four consolidated clusters in the science park.

The candidates today received the official communication of the resolution of the Program in an act chaired by the vicerectora of Innovation and Transfer of the University of Valencia, Maria Dolores Real: "This initiative is an example of how to get the most out of all the efforts that are being made to promote interaction between academia, research and the business sector," she highlighted.

The selected start-ups are Intervitas Health Connection, a company that pursues the digitalization of the Medicine and Health sector thanks to an interconnected network of clinical data based on blockchain; Porous Materials for Advanced Applications (MATCO), which carries out the design of new synthetic methodologies for obtaining and certification of metal-organic networks based on titanium, and Appear Eventos,, designed to digitize the nightlife sector.

It must be added Abrentia Technologies, a home automation company using new 4.0 technologies; Mevoyderuta, a project designed to promote rural tourism; Erasmus Creative Hub – Euroimpulse Network, borned to encourage the collaboration of researchers, entrepreneurs and educators and, with it, the exchange of experiences and the incubation of innovative projects; Shiva Business is an intermediation start-up in project management at any scale; and Navegador JP2 aims to promote female business leadership. To all of them, the program offers preferential access to the facilities and services of the Science Park.

Evaluation criteria
The evaluation commission, composed of technical staff from the UVSP as well as the Office of Policies for Excellence (OPEX) and the Research and Innovation Service of the University of Valencia, has taken the business plan (technical feasibility, commercial viability and financial economic plan), the degree of innovation and the promoter team as criteria for project evaluation.

"The objective of the program is to facilitate the launch, consolidation and promotion of business initiatives with a scientific-technological base that are generated in the environment of VLC/CAMPUS through its installation in this innovative ecosystem", stressed the director of the University of Valencia Science Park, Juan Antonio Raga.
