University of Valence announces the V edition of the '5U CV STARTUP' contest for university entrepreneurs

The University will select the candidates for the prizes from the entrepreneurs of its different campuses. The deadline for submission of proposals will end on September 7.

The University of Valencia calls on its educational community to participate in a new edition of the '5U CV STARTUP' contest, an initiative aimed at entrepreneurs of the five Valencian public universities. The objective of the awards is to recognize the best initiatives and business trajectories within the university area of ​​the Valencian region, attending to their growth, innovative character, business strategy and contribution to the environment.

The '5U CV STARTUP' competition is part of the "Innovative Entrepreneur Campus" Program, developed jointly by the five Valencian public universities, under the coordination of the Conselleria de Economia Sostenible, Sectors Productius, Comerç i Treball.

The University of Valencia organizes this fifth call from its EMPREN+ program of the Vicerrectorado for Innovation and Transfer, in collaboration with the Vice-Rector for Employment and Training Programs and the Science Park of the academic institution.

Among all the participants of its campuses, the University will select the candidates for the awards attending to the most innovative and commercially viable ideas. Finally, the 5U CV STARTUP will be awarded by the Conselleria among the proposals of the five academic institutions.

Modalities

The contest includes two modalities. On the one hand, to the STARTUP category, endowed with 16,500 euros divided into three prizes, any microenterprise and/or SME that meets these four requirements can be presented: the head office has to be located in Comunitat Valenciana; it should have commercial activity; it must have a minimum of 1 year and a maximum of 4 years; and at least one of the founding partners must be a student, graduate or graduate of the Universitat de València.

In parallel, in the STARTUP JUNIOR category, endowed with 3,750 euros divided into five prizes, emerging projects not yet established as a company or only 1 year old, where at least one of the members of the team is a student, graduate or qualified the University of Valencia, may participate in.

The deadline to participate in the contest ends on September 7, 2018.
