A delegation from the UCN Science and Technology Park Foundation and Chilean entrepreneurs visit the FPCUV

The PCTUCN is an initiative promoted by the Universidad Católica del Norte (UCN) aimed at responding to the challenges of the Antofagasta Region (Chile) and its productive sectors by strengthening its capacities for applied research, technological development, innovation and support for entrepreneurship.

During their visit to Valencia, a delegation of representatives of the Fundación Parque Científico Tecnológico de la Universidad Católica del Norte (UCN) and entrepreneurs from the Chilean region of Antofagasta visited the facilities of the Parc Científic de la Universitat de València (PCUV) last week. The visit was organized by the Network of Technological Institutes of the Valencian Community (REDIT) as part of the search for synergies.

The meeting at the Parc Científic, on behalf of the Chilean delegation, was attended by Nelson Rubilar and Eduardo Torres, representing PCTUCN, who were accompanied by Javier Quispe, from CEITZASA; Eduardo Ramos Cortes, from Servicios Gráficos Industriales Ltda- SAN Agustin; Renzo Sabella Pérez, from Ingeniería Andes Digital; Axel Rojas López, from Hands Chile; Mario Cossio, from Comercializadora Roes Limitada; Leslie Plaza Vargas, from Redimir SpA; Solange Santander Fernandez, from Los Rosales Spa; David Rolando Figueroa Véliz, from Manlim Ser vicios Integrales SpA; Georgina Kong Medero, from Segvicios Generales Kong LTDA; and Alejandra Carral Callejas, from Transporte Carga Leonardo Mamani.

Also present at the meeting were Gonzalo Belenguer, director of REDIT; Rosa María Donat, vice-rector of Innovation and Transfer UV; Pedro Carrasco, director of the PCUV; Fernando María Zárraga, manager of the FPCUV; Vicent Clemente, head of the Operations area of the FPCUV; Kristin Suleng, head of communication and marketing of the FPCUV; Luis Llorens, from Content Software - Adapting; and Pablo Romero, from Cannaflos.

The visit, which took place last Thursday morning, consisted of a working meeting, in which Donat and Carrasco explained to the delegation the organizational structure of the PCUV, the activities organized and the different projects carried out by the Foundation. In addition, Carrasco emphasized that "the University of Valencia Science Park has the capacity to participate in international synergies".

On the other hand, the Fundación Parque Científico Tecnológico, represented by Nelson Rubilar, stated that its science and technology park "is inspired by the Spanish ones". They also emphasized a model that seeks to "adapt as well as possible to the Chilean reality", specifically to the reality of the Antofagasta region, dominated by the mining industry. Finally, the meeting was closed by Pablo Romero, from Cannaflas, a Chilean researcher who is currently working for a company located in the Parc, and Lluis Llorens, from Adapting, which is expanding in Latin America.
