Growing towards its consolidation, AgrotecUV, the incubator and accelerator of the University of Valencia (UV) and the University of Valencia Science Park Foundation (FPCUV), welcomes seven new startups winners of the second call for projects and innovative startups in agri-food, which has registered an increase in the number of applications submitted compared to the previous call. The growing interest in the AgrotecUV incubation program is marked by its strategic location in the Science Park of the University of Valencia (PCUV), a hub for leading companies in the agri-food sector due to its close relationship with the university and the various research groups, which represents an opportunity for collaboration at a scientific-technical level for the participating startups.
With a presence that has gone beyond the Valencian Community, the new AgrotecUV call has received applications from companies at national and international level, both from newly created entities, local cooperative projects, spin-offs from different universities and spin-offs from large multinationals.
"The diverse nature of the participating companies shows the scope that the incubator can have in the sector as a facilitating agent for the creation of companies and the interconnection between the academic and business world, through technology transfer, contributing to the transformation of the agri-food sector in a sustainable, healthy and adapted to the current needs demanded by society," says Pedro Carrasco, director of AgrotecUV and PCUV.
