Written by admin | 11/11/2024

From November 7 to 8, 16 science and technology parks members of the Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE), including the University of Valencia Science Park, located in 10 autonomous communities, will open their doors to showcase 37 of their most innovative spaces as part of the APTE Innovation Spaces initiative

These infrastructures cover a wide variety of sectors, including: electronics, agri-food, biotechnology, energy and environment, automotive, aeronautics, nanotechnology and immersive technologies.

The main objective of this project is to raise awareness of the Singular Scientific and Technical Infrastructures (ICTS), highlighting their relevance as drivers of scientific and technological development in Spain. The initiative aims to bring researchers, companies, public administrations and civil society closer to these cutting-edge spaces that contribute to the creation of knowledge and the promotion of innovation.

It is important to note that Spanish science and technology parks are home to 58% of the country's ICTS, being a fundamental pillar for progress in key areas of science and technology.

APTE - Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain

The Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (www.apte.org) was created in 1989 as a non-profit association whose main objective is to collaborate, through the promotion and dissemination of science and technology parks, to the renewal and diversification of productive activity, technological progress and economic development. It currently has 56 member parks spread throughout Spain. 51 of them are Member parks, i.e. fully operational, 1 is an Affiliate park that is in the process of development and finally 4 are Collaborating members. In 2023, these parks hosted 5,908 entities with a turnover of 28,917 million euros. These companies provide employment to more than 161,435 people, of which 38,656 are engaged in R&D tasks.
