The scientific team of ValGenetics, a Valencian company located in the facilities of the Universitat de València Scientific Parc (PCUV), advances in the development of Ecoefficacy, a platform designed to intuitively validate and select the efficacy of substances, micro-organisms and other agents used in agriculture with biostimulant or biocontrol capacity. This ambitious project, financed by the Valencian Institute for Business Competitiveness (IVACE) through the PIDI-CV research initiative, reinforces ValGenetics' commitment to innovation in the agricultural sector.

Ecoefficacy is presented as a computer tool that uses heat maps to represent data obtained from multiple chemical, physical, biological, microbiological and molecular assays and tests. Thanks to this platform, users will be able to compare products and visualize their agronomic advantages, viability and modes of action in a clear and reliable way.

Agriculture in real conditions

One of the most outstanding features of Ecoefficacy is its ability to evaluate products under real growing conditions, taking into account factors such as soil type, temperature, humidity and ecosystem. This allows farmers and manufacturers to make data-driven decisions and optimize both agricultural practices and sustainable product development.

In addition, Ecoefficacy serves a dual function: on the one hand, it facilitates product approval by regulatory bodies by providing strong technical support; on the other hand, it helps the agricultural sector to better understand and accept the use of biological solutions, showing how these tools can improve crop quality and profitability.

Benefits for farmers and manufacturers

The platform works through a methodology based on three fundamental pillars: research of key agronomic characteristics in products, the standardization of analyses to assess its feasibility in real field conditions and the development of bioassays to characterize its mode of action. This structure ensures that ValGenetics can provide clear and accurate information, facilitating strategic decision-making for both manufacturers and farmers, thus optimizing the use of biostimulants and biocontrol products in agriculture.

Ecoefficacy not only allows you to select the right product, but also to determine the ideal doses and application methods. For manufacturers, the platform offers the possibility to rigorously validate the bio-stimulating or biocontrol properties of their raw materials in specific environments, thus increasing their chances of success on the market.

Towards a more sustainable agriculture

Biostimulants and biocontrol agents are key tools to promote more sustainable agriculture by improving plant resistance to abiotic and biotic stresses and reducing the use of chemicals. With the development of Ecoefficacy, ValGenetics reaffirms its commitment to innovation and sustainability, contributing to the care of natural resources and strengthening the resilience of agricultural ecosystems.

ValGenetics continues to position itself as a leader in applied agricultural research, offering solutions that respond to the sector’s current challenges and enhancing the development of sustainable and competitive products.
