The Valencian Network of Science Parks launches the VII edition of the «rePCV Awards»

Espaitec, the science park of the University Rei Jaume I of Castelló, celebrates this event on 7 November at 12:00 pm. Companies linked to the R+D+i ecosystem of public universities in Valencia will be eligible for recognition in the categories «spin-off award», «start-up award», «enterprise-university collaboration award» and, as a novelty, there will be a «Special mention to Innovation in the face of climate events»

The Valencian Network of Science Parks (rePCV), to which the Science Park of the University of Valencia (PCUV) belongs, calls for the seventh edition of the «rePCV Awards» in order to recognize and reward the activity of entrepreneurial projects and entrepreneurial initiatives based on their growth, innovative character, business strategy and contribution to the environment. Technology firms interested in participating can submit their application until October 17, 2025 through the contest website

The seventh edition of the «rePCV Awards», coordinated by Espaitec, Science and Technological Park of the University Jaume I of Castelló, will be held on 7 November at Espaitec. The call has three categories and a special mention: «Spin-off Award», «Start-up Award», «Business-University Collaboration Award» and as a novelty, a «Special Mention for Innovation in the face of climate events». In this seventh edition, each modality will have one winner and up to a maximum of two second places in each of the categories, except for the special mention that there will be only one recognition.

Companies winning the award in each of the three categories and recognition in the special mention, will be entitled to a report or interview in the magazine Economía 3 about the winners and the gala of the «VII rePCV Awards», which will be published in January 2026.

The aim of the special mention is to recognize the entrepreneurial initiative developed within the ecosystem of the five Valencian science parks that has demonstrated a significant contribution to prevention, mitigation, adaptation or response to extreme weather events, as torrential rains, heat waves, floods or droughts or fires, with real impact on the territory and potential for scalability

The initiative is part of the agreements signed by the Council of Innovation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism with the five science parks of the public universities in the Valencia region to strengthen interconnections in scientific fields, technological and entrepreneurial in our territory.

Spin-off, Start-up and University Collaboration Award

In the first category of awards, «Spin-off Award», it is intended to recognize companies promoted by Teaching and Research Staff (PDI), doctors or doctoral students who have been created from the exploitation of research results and are linked to any of the Valencian science parks.

The «start-up award» is aimed at innovative companies promoted by students or former students from any of the public universities in Valencia. These firms must be located or linked to any of the scientific parks in Valencia and be incorporated after 30 June 2020.

Also, the «Enterprise-University Collaboration Award» is addressed to companies that participate with any of the public universities in Valencia in R & D programs and/ or projects whose results have contributed to establish a close and continuous relationship of collaboration, the development of the Valencian economy.

Special mention to Innovation in the face of climatic events

The «Special Mention for Innovation in the face of climate events» is addressed to innovative companies located in the Valencia region or startups that have been successful in projects financed by the Council of Innovation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism of the Generalitat Valenciana, all established after 30 June 2020.

The aim of the special mention is to recognize the entrepreneurial initiative developed within the ecosystem of the five Valencian science parks that has demonstrated a significant contribution to prevention, mitigation, adaptation or response to extreme weather events, as torrential rains, heat waves, floods or droughts or fires, with real impact on the territory and potential for scalability

Consolidating the R+D+i ecosystem of the Valencian science parks

The Valencian Science Park Network (rePCV) seeks with these awards to contribute to the development and consolidation of companies created and developed with the support of the five Valencian science parks. Also boost and enhance the entrepreneurial spirit in the area of the five Valencian science parks and promote and strengthen university-business relations.

The formal delivery of the awards will be held at the gala, in a public event from the Sala Multiusos Espaitec 2 on the campus of the University Jaume I of Castelló, on Friday 7 November 2025 at 12h.

The Valencian Network of Science Parks (rePCV) is an entity formed by the Polytechnic City of Innovation - Polytechnic University of Valencia, by the Science Park of the University Miguel Hernández of Elche, by the University of Valencia Science Park, by the Science Park of Alicante-University of Alicante and Espaitec, Science and Technology Park of the Jaume I University of Castelló.
