The FPCUV makes a positive assessment of the participation of its 25 companies in the sixth edition of the VDS

The University of Valencia Science Park Foundation (FPCUV), one of the institutional partners of the sixth edition of the Valencia Digital Summit, took part for the first time in this international technological macro-event, which was held on October 26th and 27th in the City of Arts and Sciences and gathered more than 12,000 attendees

The University of Valencia Science Park (PCUV) offered, through its foundation, the possibility for innovative companies located in or linked to the PCUV to participate in the latest edition of the Valencia Digital Summit 2023 (VDS). Specifically, a total of 25 companies were part of the delegation that, for the first time, was present in the City of Arts and Sciences. According to the organization, over the two days of the event, more than 12,000 people from 91 different countries attended a meeting point with nearly 500 prestigious speakers, more than 600 national and international investors, and around 1,500 startups.

The organizations that accompanied the PCUV had at their disposal throughout the two-day event the Parc's premium stand, specifically number 42, thanks to the signing of a collaboration contract with the VDS. Specifically, this activity was part of the Innovation Transfer Exhibition Program (PETI), which is supported by the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI), to disseminate and publicize the applied innovation generated by the PCUV's entrepreneurial ecosystem to the widest possible range of society, with special emphasis on specific audiences of investors, other innovative companies and startups, corporations and large companies and the media.

In this regard, Luis Cortés, coordinator of the PETI program, explained that for the Science Park to be present along with 25 of the 90 companies housed in the PCUV, "has made it possible to introduce new companies interested in setting up in the Park". He also pointed out that participating in the VDS 2023 "has been a unique opportunity to expose and show the results of business innovation of some of the companies in the Park with a scientific profile, innovative character or technological or knowledge base". "The great value has been to create a very favorable environment to establish new professional relationships of great added value, both for exhibitors and attendees," said Cortés, head of the Economic-Financial Area of the FPCUV.

On the other hand, Cortés described VDS 2023 as "a success", and thus highlighted that the fact of "bringing together 12,000 attendees so optimistic about innovation and technology in such an emblematic place as the City of Arts and Sciences of Valencia in a two-day format with multiple activities, exhibitions and conferences of great value deserves all our recognition". "Seeing so many entrepreneurs, startups, SMEs, corporations, investors and public entities gathered together is excellent news for the growing Valencian innovative entrepreneurial ecosystem," he concluded.

Among the benefits enjoyed by the companies located in the Park that participated in the event were the following: up to three (personal) Attendee Pass tickets per company to attend and represent their company; printing of their logo on the stand of the Science Park of the University of Valencia (PCUV) and the possibility of being in the stand and receive visitors; access to the APP of the event where they can close meetings 1: 1 meetings with investors or large companies; representation of the company with a speaker in a session (transversal and innovation-related theme) of 20 minutes in round table or interview format, as well as in pitch format (3 or 5 minute presentations) of companies; the possibility of participating in the Pitch Competition, which gave the selected companies the opportunity to present themselves in front of a selected jury of investors; in addition, the participating startups could enjoy Expo village, a specific physical space for demonstration and exhibition of tangible products, prototypes or equipment. Finally, throughout the two days, spaces were reserved to meet other companies and investors to expand the network through speed dating.

Round Table and Pitch Session

Throughout both days, various topics were discussed, including: artificial intelligence, mobility, sustainability, longevity, women in technology, the future of work and blockchain. On these issues, the companies of the Science Park of the University of Valencia, participated in two events. The first, a round table on Thursday, October 26, entitled “Redefining the Medicine of the Future: Disruptive Advances in Genetics and Biotechnology”, which was made up of representatives from EVOLVING THERAPEUTICS, S.L. and MENDEL'S BRAIN, S.L., and moderated by Kristin Suleng, FPCUV Communications and Marketing Manager.

In addition, on the same day, nine companies located in the PCUV participated in the University of Valencia Science Park Tenants Pitch Session - Valencia Digital Summit 2023, where representatives of DATIPIC, S.L., DIGITAL OPTICAL IMAGING TECHNOLOGIES, S.L., EVOLVING THERAPEUTICS, S.L., INSTITUTO IBIONS, S.L.P., INTEGRAL RESEARCH GROUP, S.L., MENDEL'S BRAIN, S.L., POPLAC DEVELOPMENT, S.L., RARA AVIS BIOTEC, S.L. y ROBINFY RECLAMADOR, S.L. had three minutes to present their companies to the audience.
