4,000 people attended the hundred activities of Expociència at the Science Park and the ETSE-UV

Expociència, the great event of science, technology and sustainability of the University of Valencia Science Park (PCUV) and the School of Engineering (ETSE-UV), again achieved a successful turnout with the attendance of 4,000 people. The family public has been able to enjoy playing and learning scientific experiments in this space of knowledge and innovation located in the vicinity of the Burjassot-Paterna Campus

Expociència is the open day of the University of Valencia Science Park (PCUV), an ecosystem of knowledge and innovation of the UV and a place where researchers and entrepreneurs work to make effective the transfer of knowledge to the productive sector and society. As every year, the Science Park organizes this celebration of science, technology and innovation in order to bring the public closer to this scientific and innovative ecosystem. And it does so in the form of a game throughout the morning of the second Saturday in May.

Following the experience of recent years, Expociència has presented more than one hundred recreational and informative proposals. Among the variety of activities highlighted "¿Cómo se desbloquea el móvil con tu cara?" by the company Analog Devices, "Cerrando el círculo de la vida" by the UV Botanical Garden, "StatWars" by the Faculty of Mathematics, "Cazadores de virus", by the Institute of Integrative Systems Biology (I2SysBio), "Detective en el supermecado", by the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Science, "La Pokédex bacteriana: Identifica el teu Pokémon", from the University Institute of Biotechnology and Biomedicine (BIOTECMED), "El universo en un planetario hinchable" from the Astronomical Observatory of the University of Valencia (OAUV), "Crea tu bacteria" from the company ADM Biopolis, "La ciencia a escena" of the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències (CACSA), "Vamos a buscar delfines en una gota de agua" of the Cavanilles Institute of Biodiversity and Evolutionary Biology (ICBiBE) or "El marcapáginas saludable. Talleres de Educación Alimentaria Nutricrea" of the Luis Alcanyís Foundation of the UV.

 Expociència has presented more than a hundred recreational and informative proposals. The activities involve more than thirty entities, including the research institutes of the University of Valencia and the CSIC located in the PCUV.

The organization of the poster, in charge of more than thirty entities, has been completed by institutes of the Science Park as the Institute of Robotics and Information Technology and Communications (IRTIC), the Institute of Materials Science (ICMUV), the Institute for Molecular Science (ICMol), the Institute of Corpuscular Physics (IFIC), the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology (IATA-CSIC); the faculties of Biological Sciences, Geography and History, Chemistry and Physics of the UV; the companies of the PCUV such as Darwin Bioprospecting Excellence S. L., ValGenetics, and EVOLVING THERAPEUTICS SL; the company Espirbiòtic of the High Technology Incubator of Sustainable Agri-Food (AgrotecUV); the CSIC Delegation in the Valencian Community - Casa de la Ciència; RUVID-Xarxa d'Universitats Valencianes per al foment de la investigació, el desenvolupament i la innovación; the University of Valencia Museum of Natural History-MUVHN; the Centre d'Idiomes de la UV; the Instituto de Biomedicina de Valencia (IBV-CSIC); the Universitat Politècnica de València - Hospital General Universitario de Valencia; the Instituto Biología Molecular y Celular de Plantas (IBMCP) of the UPV-CSIC; the Asociación Valenciana de Astronomía; the Asociación Valenciana de Ajedrez Educativo and the Associació LAMNA.

During the celebration, the awards of Media100cia, the audiovisual contest for the promotion of scientific dissemination promoted by the University of Valencia Science Park Foundation (FPCUV) and supported by the Regional Ministry of Education, Universities and Employment, were also presented in the academic area. The call has two modalities, university and non-university. In the first one, the winner was the proposal Hackeando...¡Moho! by Carolina Ropero, from the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology (CSIC), and in the second one, the video La Refracción de la Luz, elaborated by Mónica Portal, student of the IES Salvador Gadea, was awarded.
