The University of Valencia Science Park Foundation is aligned with the University of Valencia with the new hub that projects Valencia as a technological pole of the Mediterranean

The University of Valencia Science Park Foundation (FPCUV) has signed a collaboration agreement with the City of Valencia and the University of Valencia to promote the creation and promotion of the urban technological location"46 Valencia Mediterranean Tech Hub". This strategic initiative seeks to position the city as a benchmark in attracting investment, innovative companies and technological talent by consolidating an international reference technological ecosystem

The Local Government Board of the Valencia City Council approved on 11 July this agreement, with the objective of advancing in the procedures necessary to request from the Generalitat Valenciana the classification of the area as an urban technological enclave, within the framework of the Management Law 14/2018, modernisation and promotion of industrial areas in the Valencia region.  The area that is configured as 46 Valencia Mediterranean Tech Hub will have a high concentration of technology companies, startups and research centers, also benefiting from tax incentives and a privileged environment for knowledge generation and transfer.

The FPCUV, as the managing entity of the business area of the University of Valencia Science Park, assumes a key role in this alliance, making available to the project its experience in the dynamization of innovation ecosystems. Today, the Park is home to more than a hundred innovative companies, mostly in the field of biotechnology and ICT, and actively promotes university-business collaboration. Pedro Carrasco, director of the University of Valencia Science Park, says: "Being part of this strategic project reinforces the role of the UV Science Park as a driving force for innovation and knowledge transfer in Valencia. The agreement provides for the joint development of actions to facilitate the installation of new companies, modernize infrastructure, encourage technology-based entrepreneurship and make visible the potential of the enclave through events, dissemination campaigns and training programmes. Strategic projects aligned with key areas such as clean energy, health, smart logistics, advanced port technologies and urban sustainability will also be promoted.

The FPCUV will continue to promote initiatives that connect research with the market and generate value for society."

The signing of this agreement strengthens the public-private partnership for sustainable economic development in Valencia, integrating key actors such as the University of Valencia, the FPCUV, the City Council and the Port Authority of Valencia in a common commitment to turn the city into an international pole of technological innovation.
