After the regulatory process of proposal and appointment of the Directorate by the University of Valencia and the CSIC, Gustavo Gómez and Rosario Gil have assumed the direction of the Institute for Integrative Systems Biology on May 25
On April 16, the I2SysBio Senate unanimously supported the management project presented by Gustavo Gómez as director and Rosario Gil as vice-director. This support was ratified by the Board of the institute, which forwarded the proposal to the CSIC Presidency and to the Rectorate of the University of Valencia. On May 25, the institutions have appointed the new Directorate that replaces the previous team formed by Emilia Matallana and Santiago F. Elena.
Gustavo Gómez is Researcher at CSIC and Principal Investigator of the “Non-Coding RNA-Mediated Regulatory Networks” group. Rosario Gil is Professor of Genetics at the University of Valencia and Principal Investigator in the “Evolutionary Genetics” group. Both will be assisted in their task of co-direction of the institute by Javier Buceta, CSIC Senior Scientist and Principal Investigator in the “Evolutionary Genetics” group "Theoretical and In Silico Modeling of Biological Systems".
