In this call, all research groups of Spanish public universities and public research bodies may apply for the infrastructure. Artemisa, infrastructure of the Institute of Corpuscular Physics (IFIC), located in the scientific-academic area of the University of Valencia Science Park (PCUV), currently has 23 servers hosting two NVIDIA GPU Volta V100 processors, 11 servers with a GPU NVIDIA Ampere A100, a server with 8 NVIDIA Ampere A100 GPUs and 2 servers with 2 NVIDIA H100 GPUs. Servers are especially suited for artificial intelligence computing. In addition to these servers, which are to be used in "batch" mode, two interfaces are available where users can pre-test their programs. Artemisa also has a state-of-the-art storage and CPU system.
Groups wishing to use Artemis should apply on their website, following the steps indicated there.
Applications will be evaluated by a committee which will take into account the scientific interest of the proposals, the history of the proposing group, the adequacy of the calculations for the use of Artemisa’s resources, in particular the use of artificial intelligence and the availability of infrastructure. In addition, its social impact may be taken into account, especially if the objectives of the project are included in the priority matrix of the RIS3 of the Valencian Community.
Artemisa is co-financed by the European Union and the Council of Education, Universities and Employment of the Generalitat Valenciana through the IDIFEDER/2018/048 project of the 2014-2020 ERDF Operational Programme of the Autonomous Community of Valencia. Supported by the Ministry MCIU with funds from the European Union NextGenerationEU (PRTR-C17.I01) and the Generalitat Valenciana (ASFAE/2022/024).
