From 20 to 24 October, the Botanical Garden of the University of Valencia hosted the tenth edition of the congress on Quantum Information in Spain (ICE-10), organized by the Institute of Corpuscular Physics (IFIC), a research centre of the PCUV, together with the University of València and the Polytechnic University of Valencia. This is an annual meeting of the Spanish Network for Quantum Information (RITCE) that brings together national and international researchers in the fields of computing, communications, metrology and quantum thermodynamics, among other related areas
The ICE conference derives its name «Quantum Information in Spain» from the congress that founded the Spanish Network of Quantum Information and Technologies. Currently it is a reference event for the international community, which aims to strengthen the national quantum ecosystem and promote the participation of young researchers from all fields of quantum science and technologies.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Joaquín Aldas, Vice-Rector of Planning, Quality and Technologies at the University of Valencia (UV), with the participation of the organizers, Armando Pérez (IFIC), Manuel Gessner (UV and IFIC), José Manuel Claver (UV) and Jorge Mocholí, Deputy Director-General for Science and Research of the Generalitat Valenciana. They all agreed to highlight the relevance of quantum technologies and their transformative potential in society and science.
The ICE-10 meeting brought together more than 150 researchers in this field, who throughout the week presented their advances during 56 scientific papers and two poster sessions.
This edition was organized by professors and researchers from the University of Valencia and the Institute of Corpuscular Physics (IFIC), located in the academic scientific area of the University of Valencia Science Park (PCUV), joint center of the Superior Council for Scientific Research and the University of Valencia, and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), with the support of various projects and public institutions that drive the development of quantum research in Spain: the Spanish Network of Information and Quantum Technologies and the CSIC’s Quantum Technologies Platform.
