The FPCUV approves its Annual Accounts and Activities Report for the year 2022

The approval of the Annual Accounts and the Annual Report of Activities for 2022, together with the report of the director of the Parc Científic de la Universitat de València (PCUV), Pedro Carrasco, have focused the meeting of the Board of Trustees convened on Thursday at the PCUV facilities.

The Board of Trustees of the Fundació Parc Científic Universitat de València (FPCUV), convened in plenary session this Thursday, approved the Annual Accounts of the FPCUV for the year 2022. The meeting, chaired by the rector of the academic institution, María Vicenta Mestre, dealt with the approval of the FPCUV's activity report and the annual accounts, which include the balance sheet, the income statement, the economic management report, as well as the distribution of the surplus. The Foundation managed a volume of resources in 2022 close to 2.7 million euros.

The call was also attended by the Vice-Rector for Innovation and Transfer of the UV, Rosa M. ª Donat; the general secretary of the UV, M. ª Elena Olmos; the director of the Parc Científic de la Universitat de València, Pedro Carrasco; the representative of the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Trade and Navigation of Valencia, Jorge Linares; the manager of the University of Valencia, Juan Vicente Climent; the councilman of Culture and Heritage of the City of Burjassot, Javier Naharros; the institutional delegate of the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) in Valencia, Juan A. Fuster Verdú; the vice-rector for Research at the University of Valencia, Justo Herrera Gómez; the vice-rector for Lifelong Learning, Teaching Transformation and Employment at the UV, Ángeles Solanes; and the manager of the FPUCV, Fernando M.ª Zárraga

The Fundació Parc Científic Universitat de València managed a volume of resources in 2022 close to 2.7 million euros.

In the presentation of the Foundation's activity report, Pedro Carrasco, director of the PCUV, emphasized the evolution of occupation and development of the Parc, which by the end of 2022 housed a total of 74 companies - eleven of them new - with almost 100% occupation in the five buildings that make up the business environment of the Science Park. "Fundamentally we are continuing to make progress in non-programmed specialization in ICTs and biotechnology," stressed Carrasco, while highlighting the increase in the number of jobs at the Parc. "We are currently at the highest number of jobs we have ever had, with an increase of more than 100 jobs over the previous year," reported the PCUV director.

Lines of action 2022

Over the past year, the Foundation developed six lines of action, including projects linked to the program of Grants for the Promotion and Revitalization of Science Parks of the Conselleria of Innovation, Science and Digital Society (Expociència 2022 in the line of dissemination of science and technology and Expoinnova 2022, a showcase to promote innovation); Globaltech 2022, a nexus for the internationalization and management of international projects; the Business Development Impulse Program (PIDE), which contributes to boosting business growth; the adaptation to the National Security Scheme, in terms of advanced services, and the promotion of entrepreneurship with awards such as the VLC/Startup 2022.

The nominative line financed by the Agència Valenciana de la Innovació (AVI) to promote the transfer of knowledge and technology between universities and companies, as well as to support innovative entrepreneurship, is deployed in a set of programs: Innotransfer, Program of Characterization of Innovative Companies of the Valencian Community (PICEI), SMART PARK, INNpresa: Observatory of Innovation in the Company, IV Awards Network of Valencian Science Parks (rePCV) and Transforma Digital Platforms.

Through the collaboration agreement with the Paterna City Council, a series of actions were carried out to renovate, improve and modernize the equipment, infrastructure and services of the Parc.

During the 2022 fiscal year, a 136kW photovoltaic plant was installed, the network of electrical analyzers was expanded for the implementation of an energy management platform, and finally, new outdoor coexistence areas were added.

In reference to the people employed in the business area of the PCUV, it was noted that 18.2% of the companies are headed by women, and as for the gender of the workers, 52.0% are men and 48.0% are women.

With respect to the evaluation of the PCUV services, in global terms, it was recalled that most of the companies are very or fairly satisfied with the PCUV. In fact, in response to the question of whether they would recommend the PCUV to a friend looking for a location for his/her company, the average score obtained was 8.6 points out of 10. With respect to the services offered by the PCUV, the best rated were "Attendance at activities, conferences, workshops, seminars, training, etc." and "Communication and marketing."
