Boosting Knowledge Transfer and Innovation

The main role of the FPCUV is the operation, use, and management of its spaces: Building 1 ‘Scientific-Technological Services’ (SC), Building 2 ‘Biotechnology and Functional Foods’ (BIOTEC), Building 3 ‘University Business Centre’ (CUE), and the newly inaugurated Building 5 ‘Centre d’Innovació’, located in the business area of the Parc Científic and which will house the AgrotecUV Incubator, in addition to other innovative companies. All of these facilities are located at the central headquarters of the Fundació Parc Científic Universitat de València, as well as a “coworking” space located in the Beatriu Civera Building at the Tarongers Campus of the University of Valencia. Additionally, construction has begun on the building that will host the National Dosimetry Centre, along with the launch of a new High-Tech Incubator, IATECUV, focused on Artificial Intelligence and Digital Enabling Technologies.

These spaces host various entities and companies to develop their activities, with special attention to everything related to R&D&I. Furthermore, the FPCUV provides advisory and support services to companies and participates in various innovation promotion programmes, some of which are supported by public entities.

At the board meeting, actions aimed at the management, maintenance, development, and revitalisation of the innovation ecosystem of the Parc Científic were reviewed. This ecosystem includes ten research institutes and more than 90 innovative companies employing around 600 people.

Following the guidelines outlined in the Foundation's objectives, throughout 2025, a series of actions will be carried out in collaboration with the Conselleria d’Educació, Universitats i Ocupació, aimed at promoting research, development, and innovation in the Valencian Community. These include initiatives such as the Business Development Promotion Programme (PIDE); the promotion of innovation through the EXPOINNOVA project, which consists of live sessions streamed online on current innovation topics with scientists from PCUV companies and entities; and the internationalisation and management of international projects through the Globaltech project, now in its fifth edition, which will focus on the use of major national and European research infrastructures. The dissemination of science and technology, through well-established activities such as the EXPOCIÈNCIA open day, advanced services, and sustainability through the Sustainable Vectors Programme, will also shape the agenda of the new year, during which the FPCUV will celebrate its 15th anniversary.

Support for Entrepreneurship and Knowledge Transfer

The FPCUV will also collaborate in 2025 with the Paterna City Council on its programme to improve the infrastructure of the Parc Científic, and with the Conselleria d’Innovació, Indústria, Comerç i Turisme to develop initiatives to promote knowledge and technology transfer between universities and businesses. These actions include supporting innovative entrepreneurship and independent R&D, as well as enhancing the impact of activities that disseminate obtained results.

The FPCUV will launch, with the support of its patron, Banco Santander, a new call for the innovative entrepreneurship programme VLC/STARTUP, aimed at fostering the growth of spin-offs and start-ups based on scientific and technological foundations. This programme will offer training and business advice in areas such as financing and communication.

To carry out all these activities, the FPCUV has allocated a budget of around €2.7 million for 2025, with resources coming almost entirely from the activities carried out by the Foundation itself.

Two Ambitious Projects Supported by the Generalitat Valenciana

The FPCUV has announced the implementation of two strategic projects for 2025, supported by the Generalitat Valenciana through the Conselleria d’Educació, Cultura, Universitats i Ocupació and the Conselleria d’Innovació, Indústria, Comerç i Turisme. These initiatives, framed within the Programme for the Promotion of Scientific Research, Technological Development, and Innovation in the Valencian Community, aim to revitalise the productive fabric, foster an innovative culture, and strengthen the connection between universities and businesses.

Additionally, with the support of Banco Santander, the FPCUV will launch a new call for the VLC/STARTUP innovative entrepreneurship programme, which will facilitate the creation and growth of spin-offs and start-ups based on scientific and technological foundations. This programme will offer training and business advice in areas such as financing, communication, and business plan development, as well as providing facilities in the Science Park.

A 2025 Marked by Innovation and Collaboration

These initiatives underscore the FPCUV's commitment to fostering the innovation ecosystem in the Valencian Community. Through the CRECE and COMUNICA projects, alongside knowledge transfer programmes and entrepreneurship support, the foundation aims to position itself as a benchmark in transforming the productive fabric, fostering a knowledge-based economy, sustainability, and collaboration among the various actors in the scientific and business ecosystem.
