Pedro Carrasco, director of the Science Park of the University of Valencia, appointed new president of the Valencian Science Parks Network (rePCV)

The network, which brings together the five science parks of the public universities in Valencia, renews its directive and outlines its roadmap until 2027

The Valencian Network of Science Parks (rePCV) has appointed as its new president Pedro Carrasco, director of the Science Park of the University of Valencia (PCUV), who will hold office until 2027. The appointment was formalized during the annual meeting of the board of directors, held on Wednesday at the Gandía campus of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV).

At the same meeting, it was agreed that the vice-presidency will fall to the Science Park of Alicante, while the secretariat and treasury will be taken over by the Science Park of the Miguel Hernández University (PCUMH) of Elche. The session also served to approve the accounts of the previous year, review the main activities carried out by the parks and address the strategic lines of action for the coming years.

"It is an honor to take the witness of Tonia Salinas, director-manager of PCUMH de Elche, and take on the challenge of representing and defending the interests of companies, entities and research institutes that integrate the five scientific parks of the Valencian Community", declared Pedro Carrasco. "We will continue working to make visible the value they bring to the environment and society, favoring the retention of talent in our region," he added.

The rePCV is made up of the five scientific parks linked to the public universities in Valencia: the Science Park of the Miguel Hernández of Elche University; Espaitec, Science and Technology Park of the Jaume I University of Castelló; the Science Park of the University of Valencia; the Polytechnic City of Innovation of the Polytechnic University of Valencia; and the Science Park of Alicante - University of Alicante.

The main objective of this network is to boost regional economic development through innovation, strengthening the competitiveness of companies and knowledge institutions that house the parks. The rePCV also promotes a diversified, sustainable and socially responsible entrepreneurial fabric.
