The Parc Científic de la Universitat de València (PCUV) company, PersiSKIN, a technology-based company in the agri-food sector, consolidates its innovative proposal as a solution to the surplus of Valencian persimmon through the manufacture of vegan textiles, with the achievement of awards such as the Modaes Startup Contest, which recognizes the social value of the company and its commitment to sustainability and circular economy.

In its commitment to vegan textiles as a substitute for animal and synthetic leather, the Valencian company PersiSKIN, located in the Parc Científic de la Universitat de València (PCUV), is gaining notoriety thanks to awards such as the one given by the specialized media Modaes, which has selected the company as the winner of the third edition of the Fashion StartUp Contest.

Second life for Valencian persimmons

PersiSKIN is committed to a circular business model based on giving a second life to persimmons that have no commercial outlet in the fruit market. On the one hand, it revalues this crop, which currently occupies 14,430 hectares in the Valencian Community, and offers farmers an outlet for these items. On the other hand, it favors the generation of employment in the production area as well as the creation of a textile sub-sector and at the same time offers the market a sustainable alternative to animal and synthetic leather.
