Science parks are becoming increasingly important in the promotion of knowledge and technology-based companies. In this scenario, the Network of Valencian Science Parks (rePCV) has been recognizing for the last five years the efforts of companies in their R&D&I initiatives through the rePCV Awards, an initiative supported by the Agència Valenciana de la Innovació (AVI).

The awards, whose ceremony is being held this year at the University of Valencia Science Park (PCUV) under the slogan '5 parks, V editions', aim to recognize the activity of entrepreneurial and business initiatives based on their growth, innovative nature, business strategy and contribution to the environment. The call, open from May 10 to June 9, and which has three categories ("Spin-off Award", "Start-up Award" and "Business-University Collaboration Awards"), has received a total of 25 nominations.

The winning companies will be announced on Monday, June 26 on the website premiosrepcv.net. The awards ceremony will be held on June 30 at 12:00 noon in the Marie Curie Auditorium of the PCUV.

Through these awards, the entity that encompasses the science parks of the Valencian Community seeks to contribute to the development and consolidation of companies created and developed with the support of the five Valencian science parks, as well as to promote and enhance entrepreneurship in knowledge environments and to promote and strengthen University-Business relations.

With a schedule scheduled between 12:00 and 13:30, the program of the event will include the welcome of Tonia Salinas, new president of the rePCV after the mandate of Juan Antonio Bertolín, director of Espaitec, Parc Científic i Tecnològic de la Universitat Jaume I de Castelló; Pedro Carrasco, director of PCUV, organizer of the V rePCV Awards; and Rosa Donat, vice-rector of Innovation and Transfer of the Universitat de València.

During the event, innovation will be addressed as an ally of the challenges of the productive model of the Valencian Community in a dialogue that will focus on the book Qué hacer con el modelo productivo: Guía básica para gobernantes audaces, between Andrés García Reche, author of the book, and Rafa Navarro, founding partner of Innsomnia and the innovation portal D+I, D+I, Disruptores e Innovadores.

After the award ceremony of the V rePCV Awards, which will be given by García Reche, Salinas, Carrasco and Donat, music and humor will enliven the day with a scientific-musical performance by Amparo López and Glòria Sànchez, researchers at the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology (IATA-CSIC) accompanied by musicians Iván Moya and Anna Franco.

After the performance, attendees will be able to enjoy a catering, for which it is required to send confirmation to the email address comunicacion.pcuv@uv.es.
