Juan Antonio Raga Esteve, the director of the Science Park of the Universitat de València, has been appointed president of the Valencian Science Parks Network (rePCV) in replacement of Tania Salinas, manager of the Scientific and Business Park- Universitas Miguel Hernández Foundation. The network includes more than 3,000 researchers and 270 enterprises.
Juan Antonio Raga is full university professor of Zoology at the Universitat de València and researcher of the Cavanilles Institute of Biodiversity and Evolutionary Biology of this academic institution. The renewal of posts took place yesterday, Tuesday 11 July, in the framework of the 2017 strategical meeting of the rePCV members. The objective of this meeting is to assess the network’s activity.
RePCV includes more than 3000 researchers and 270 enterprises and it generates about 2000 skilled employments. Regarding the Science Park of the Universitat de València, the 80% of the employments created last year corresponds to graduates and doctors and the 45% of the employments are occupied by women.
Its main objectives include the establishment of institutional collaboration links with the Valencian Government, especially through the Department for Education, Research, Culture and Sport as well as the Department for Sustainable Economy, Trade and Work.
The rePCV is made up by the Espaitec of the Universitat Jaume I; the Polytechnic City of Innovation-Universidad Politécnica de Valencia; the Science Park of the Universitat de València; the Alicante Science Park-Universidad de Alicante and theScientific and Business Park- Universitas Miguel Hernández Foundation.
