The mayor of Alboraya visits the Science Park and has shown interest in the sanitation of the tiger nut from ValGenetics

The mayor of Aboraya,Miguel Chavarría, and the first deputy mayorAna María Bru, visited the facilities of the Science Park of the University of Valencia, showing special interest in knowing the plant health work carried out by the biotechnological ValGenetics.

Among other services of the company, Chavarría wanted to know especially the work that ValGenetics is carrying out for the cleaning of the tiger nut, herbaceous plant rooted in the town and severely affected by the so-called plague of the 'black spot'.

"After the first trials we observed that the tiger nuts born from our mother plants are much higher and more productive than those that are currently being cultivated in the Alboraya orchard. Moreover, we are currently studying the origin of the plague",Maria. R. Albiach, CEO of ValGenetics, has explained.

Accompanied by the team of ValGenetics as well as by the manager of the University of Valencia Science Park Foundation,Fernando M. Zárraga, the heads of the local government of Alboraya have known the diverse technological offer that coexists in this ecosystem of innovation.
