A team from the University of Valencia’s Institute for Molecular Science (ICMol), which is based at the Science Park, has recently synthesized new molecules that make it possible to recognize G-quadruplex DNA sequences. The capacity of these genetic structures to inhibit telomerase activity makes them a promising focus for developing antitumour drugs. The team’s findings have been published in Chemistry: A European Journal.
